Reports to: Facilities Director Status: Full Time - up to 35 hours per week.

Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technicianis responsible for maintaining the building and all equipment within and on campus.This role requires advanced technical proficiencies in building maintenance, general maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, groundskeeping, and overall event support.

About You

You'll thrive with us if you (Required):

Previous experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of general maintenance procedures and repair techniques. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment.

Strong relational skills and an ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

This is what youll spend the most time on...

Identifies and corrects building and equipment problems by performing carpentry, plumbing, painting, and HVAC work to maintain building and equipment in safe condition, prevent degradation of property and systems, and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service using hand, power and speciality tools.

Repairs and maintains building structures and equipment, (e.g. roofs, floors, walls, ceilings, HVAC equipment, etc.) to provide safe conditions for staff, students, and guests using various hand and power tools (e.g. snakes, volt/ohm meters, ladders, etc.).

Repairs or replaces inoperable or old equipment (e.g. belts, sinks, faucets, hardware, light fixtures, HVAC filters, etc.) to provide a safe, comfortable environment for staff, students, and guests using various tools and materials.

Inspects and repairs plumbing equipment, systems and components (e.g. faucets, drain lines, valves, etc.) in building by using appropriate materials and tools. Removes blockages to restrooms/kitchens facilities to restore the flow and drainage of waste water and products using appropriate tools and materials (e.g. hand, electrical sewer snakes, plunger, chemicals, etc).

Paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, doors, restrooms, etc) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain safe, comfortable environment using various painting tools and supplies (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc).

Repairs and maintains doors and hardware using various hand and power tolls to ensure proper operation and security of facilities.

Replaces and repairs ceiling tiles and ceiling grid systems to correct damaged, stained or broken tiles using hand and power tools.

Builds and repairs office/school furniture using appropriate carpentry techniques, tools and materials.

Perform general maintenance work (e.g. trims trees in parking lots, hang pictures, assists different teams during special events).

Be able to operate various types of equipment (e.g. Scissor and boom lifts, forklift, skid steer, etc.)

Performs, maintains and cleans HVAC systems on a monthly basis.

Serves as point of contact in the absence of the supervisor.

Other maintenance duties as assigned.
