Overview The Vulnerability Analyst candidate will conduct vulnerability assessments and security audits to identify cybersecurity risks and critical flaws within the company’s networks, applications, and operating systems. Tests company’s internal systems to validate security and detect any computer and information security weaknesses. Performs a technical analysis of vulnerabilities and determines the impact to the organization. Reports, tracks, and records findings in a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report. Identifies and recommends appropriate action to mitigate vulnerabilities and reduce potential impacts on company resources.

Responsibilities Qualifications Required Skills

Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies

Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles

Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities

Knowledge of application vulnerabilities

Knowledge of Web Application and API vulnerability scanning

Knowledge of cryptography and cryptographic key management concepts

Knowledge of network access, identity, and access management (e.g., PKI, Oauth, SAML)

Knowledge of how traffic flows across the network (e.g., TCP/IP, OSI model)

Knowledge of system and application security threats and vulnerabilities (e.g., buffer overflow, cross-site scripting, injections, race conditions, malicious code)

Knowledge of system administration, network, and OS hardening techniques

Knowledge of Application Security Risks (e.g., OWASP Top 10)

Relevant certifications such as Security+ are a plus

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field

1-3 years of security or information security experience; willingness to work in a 24/7 environment

Experience conducting IT compliance assessments (e.g., PCI)

Knowledge of security concepts such as cyber-attacks, threat vectors, and risk management

Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7)

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

CompTIA Security+ or related certification is a plus
