Description At Regions, the Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for ensuring the dependability of our firm's most critical system applications. This role involves solving major issues, understanding and remediating points of system failure, and working with internal teams to optimize system applications’ reliability, performance, and capacity. Primary Responsibilities Ensure a holistic view of our system applications’ overall health Solve problems related to mission-critical services and create solutions to prevent recurrence Collaborate with team members to improve engineering tools, systems, and procedures Design and deploy applications and enhancements to improve reliability, scalability, latency, and efficiency Test installed software for malfunction detection Identify and resolve business systems issues Measure effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems Develop and implement strategies to improve systems Monitor and test system performance Assist management with auditing team processes and procedures Provide high-level training, guidance, and advice to junior engineers Manage complex projects Serve as a subject-matter expert This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and seven (7) years of related experience Skills and Competencies Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and other technology professionals Ability to conduct system analysis to detect performance issues Develop and implement technology solutions to resolve technical challenges Manage multiple projects simultaneously Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization, and debugging Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong executional capabilities Understanding of software structures, hardware, and computing systems Desired Skills Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure) Experience with Observability / APM solutions (Dynatrace, New Relic, Datadog, etc.) Familiarity with Splunk, Elastic, OpenSearch, Prometheus, Grafana Implementing SRE principles (SLO / SLI) Troubleshooting critical business applications Knowledge of servers, infrastructure, load balancers, storage Solid understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows Technologies: Kubernetes, Containers, serverless Programming languages: Bash, Powershell, Java, Python, JavaScript, etc. Experience with Ansible and Terraform Cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Locations include Birmingham, AL; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Denver, CO; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Salt Lake City, UT. Position Type Full time Compensation Salary range: $125,645.30 - $158,970.00 USD. Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan. Compensation varies based on experience, skills, location, and performance.
