Staff Engineer

Collectively, OSEH staff brings over 125 years of experience in the design of highways and local roads, traffic engineering, and construction management. Responsibilities Prepare and review design plans, schedules, reports, calculations, estimates, and specifications for various transportation-related projects utilizing knowledge of relevant design principles. Manage, review, and assist with engineered drawings, submittals, deliverables, and other documents for consistency with work scope, assessing conformance to contract specifications, and resolving any conflicts in interpretation. Ensure all submitted plans and documents adhere to standards, specifications, codes, and client requirements. Technical assignments may include roadway and highway geometrics, drainage system design, traffic analysis and design, barrier warrant analyses, maintenance of traffic, general civil/site development, and other related tasks. Project types may include, but are not limited to, taxiway and runway design, highway geometric design, maintenance of traffic design, signing and striping, and more. Additional assignments may include developing preliminary design studies and Project Reports, preparing specifications, completing quantity take-offs, and checking design computations. Facilitate OSEH Inc.’s quality control procedure for deliverable generation, archiving, and distribution/transmittal. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications 3 to 5 years of experience in the transportation engineering marketplace EIT registration is required. A Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred. Working knowledge of industry safety standards, guidelines, and specification codes Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to provide effective coordination on projects, as well as effective communication with clients and vendors. Ability to work seamlessly with the project team, including other OSEH staff, clients, and sub-consultants. Must be organized, self-directed, able to prioritize and multitask, work in a team environment, and take direction from others. Must possess strong time management and attention to detail. Must have experience with Bentley OpenRoads. Must be knowledgeable in transportation design standards, including AASHTO design guidelines Seniority level
