Location: Springfield or Chicago Union: IFSOE Department: Wellness & Student Care Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $62,449 - $78,917 Full Salary Range: $62,449 - $106,278 Office Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Posted Date: August 4, 2025 Reporting to the Supervisor, this role collaborates with the ISBE Wellness Team, Illinois school districts, and service providers to promote student wellness, focusing on school health and nursing policies and practices. Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with wellness team members and ISBE staff. Research and disseminate wellness and health information and resources. Oversee grant programs related to school wellness and the needs of the whole child. Develop recommendations for improvements in health and wellness policies and procedures. Participate in designing data collection, reporting, and evaluation systems. Serve as an agency representative on school health issues and provide technical assistance. Monitor compliance with statutes and regulations related to school health. Recommend updates to rules and regulations regarding school health and nursing. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a Bachelor's degree in one of these fields plus two years of relevant experience. (Copy of transcripts required.) Two years of experience in a school health setting. Experience working with individuals with health concerns/issues. Experience developing reports, technical documents, and training materials. Knowledge of current issues and best practices in school health and wellness. Skills in effective school health policy development. Ability to analyze research results and apply findings. Problem-solving skills for complex issues. Ability to coordinate projects and work with diverse teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer applications.
