Job Summary
:
Provide ongoing leadership for the regional team responsible for franchisee single unit and multi-unit operations in the U.S., and the development of Circle K Full Franchise on a regional basis. Responsible for identification, development and engagement of franchise business prospects in-network and out-of-network. Position responsible for overseeing the regional operations of and compliance obligations for Traditional Franchise sites in a U.S. region indicated and provide ongoing comprehensive support for the Operations team and Franchisees in the areas of strategic planning, operations, merchandising, training, market development and conversion wherever possible and beneficial to Circle K Full Franchise. Also responsible for the development of Circle K Full Franchise outside of traditional site conversion with a focus on acquiring new prospects, converting accounts, and multi-site operator agreements. Essential Functions: Support Traditional site transition to and significant / frequent referrals of the Circle K Full Franchise program to include Circle K branded fuel. Maintain involvement in petroleum community to serve as resource for real estate opportunities, market data and information, competitive pricing and industry contacts. Support single-site and multi-site operator development obligations by supporting conversion to Full Franchise through assisting the Franchise Operations team, Development team and Franchisees in development through review and presentation of site selection analysis binders, format determinations and conflict resolution with Company Operated Business Units. Evaluate all growth opportunities with existing and new Franchisees through new store development or store acquisitions to meet MSO agreement parameters. Develop and implement a market strategy aligned with our Real Estate Department to ensure that growth opportunities are identified, and a plan developed for each Franchisee consisting of market analysis, growth area designation, acquisition targets and field execution. Research qualified convenience store operators within targeted areas of the region for expanded brand presence through additional franchisees. Identification of these new franchise business opportunities through various sales strategies (cold calls, conventions, referrals, etc.). Perform viability analysis to include volume estimates and contribution/ROI metrics of potential new franchises. Conduct risk assessment on existing potential franchise stations for analysis and franchise consideration. Primary responsibility for relationship management to include company advocacy, conducting annual business reviews, support of Operations Team to gain full program execution support. Represent Circle K at industry related functions such as NACS, Society of Independent gas Marketers (SIGMA) and State Petroleum Marketers Conventions. Consult and support operations teams to support all Franchise customers in their regions for all facets of the Circle K retail business system. Work in conjunction with senior management and Franchise owners to evaluate key business issues, identify solutions and implement enhancements and / or corrective actions. Ensure site and brand standards are maintained by working with Franchisees, suppliers, manufacturers, and marketing services in compliance with standards, image and brand management. Provide ongoing evaluation and documentation of performance as well as constructive guidance. Maintain brand integrity by monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Franchisee agreement and Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). Work closely with management team for each Franchisee to ensure contractual understanding and compliance as well as resolve issues. Provide service to customers by representing the company on business issues; presenting marketing plans and new program rollouts; coordinating links to corporate support teams. Work in conjunction with other regional management to identify business improvement techniques which may add value to Franchisee operations. Ensure compliance with requirements, policies, and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, policies and governmental regulations; and taking appropriate action when necessary. Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions. Allocate program costs by preparing operational and risk reports for analysis. Contribute to team performance by accomplishing determined Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Other combinations of job-related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted. MBA a plus. Twelve years of experience or more preferred in the convenience store operations, marketing, merchandising and/or development fields; including a minimum of seven years of management responsibility. Franchise experience highly preferred. Wholesale commercial fuel experience a plus. Director level experience preferred. Strong analytical skills and proven experience working with company financials. Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word preferred. More than 75% of travel Other Experience and Qualifications: Previous exposure to business-to-business sales, real estate transactions, fuel wholesale business and convenience retail operations. Knowledge of relevant laws/regulations Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
