The MOVE program runs year-round, though project availability will vary by domain. Put AI to the test with real-world expertise and evaluate where they excel or fail. Project work includes designing and solving advanced material science problems that require multi-step reasoning, and testing them with AI models to ensure they are appropriately challenging. Who Should Apply PhD students, postdocs, or recent

PhDs in materials science with experience in polymers, metals and ceramics, energy materials, or nanomaterials. Able to participate in primarily asynchronous work in partnership with leading AI labs. Believe your expertise can outmatch current AI systems in understanding and explaining key concepts in your field. This program is open to U.S.-based doctoral students, candidates, and recent graduates with valid work or training authorization (e.g., F-1/OPT, J-1, H-1B). Participants are responsible for ensuring compliance with their visa conditions and confirming eligibility with their visa sponsor prior to applying. Compensation Compensation is $75/hr.
