About The Role

The Legal Talent Coordinator - MCLE is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talent / Legal Talent teams and will be responsible for supporting Legal Talent leadership with office strategic initiatives, while serving as a liaison between local and global management committees, ensuring effective communication and information sharing. This role will be responsible for serving as the firmwide contact responsible for state bar and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) accreditation and compliance for lawyers admitted to the relevant state bars firmwide, while supporting local office’s Training & Career Enhancement (TACE) Committee and TACE staff with all local and firmwide training programs, as well as scheduling each training event on the local office calendar and communicating all new developments to the TACE Committee This role will be located in our Washington D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

Preparing necessary documentation for application to the local state bar after each CLE activity in order to acquire the proper course accreditation Providing comprehensive support for development initiatives aimed at associate morale and retention, including assisting with associate reintegration post-leave, coordinating exit processes, and serving as an informational point of contact for associates, new hires, and partners regarding orientation, integration, and development Organizing and facilitating orientation and training for new hires and lateral associates, managing inter-office transfers and secondments, and overseeing joiner/leaver processes with global business services colleagues Strategizing, planning, and executing attorney-related events, meetings, and orientations, including setting objectives with management, negotiating with vendors, managing event budgets, processing expenses, and assigning work to unassigned associates Assisting with the application of employment policies, coordinating approval processes with the relevant office, Associates Committee, and department leadership, while developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including committee members, office managing partners, and Human Capital & Talent to address ongoing associate needs and support Legal Talent initiatives in collaboration with firm committees, departments, and various affinity groups Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively at all organizational levels and work well in a team with a customer-service focus Demonstrate the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion, strong analytical skills with minimal supervision, and attention to detail for quality assurance Display organizational skills to manage time, prioritize tasks, handle multiple deadlines, and proficiency in MS Office, applicant tracking systems, and interview platforms

And have:

A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent A minimum of two (2) years of experience in legal talent or professional services, preferably
