Electrical Engineer – Automation (PLC & SCADA, Marine)

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in PLC programming (SCADA experience preferred) to join our team supporting national security marine projects. You will be responsible for the design, development, commissioning, and maintenance of Ship Management Systems (SMS) throughout the vessel life cycle. Responsibilities: Design and develop system and architecture for Ship Management Systems (SMS). Integrate SMS with third-party systems. Plan, manage, and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Set-to-Work (STW), and Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT). Perform software configuration management and prepare technical documentation. Conduct hardware/software maintenance and troubleshooting. Liaise with customers, project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure SMS operational readiness during the maintenance phase of the vessel life cycle. Skills & Knowledge PLC programming (mandatory) and SCADA software (advantageous). Site testing and commissioning experience. Control & instrumentation and control system design knowledge. Familiarity with computer administration, networking, and cybersecurity concepts. Understanding of industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus RTU/TCP, RS422/485, NMEA, CANbus J1939). Advantageous: Marine Classification/Statutory Rules, Python, JSON, Restful APIs, machine learning, data analytics. Qualifications & Requirements Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering (other engineering disciplines considered). Experience in system architecture design, system maintenance, or networking. Able to work independently under pressure and lead a small team.
