SUMMARY:
The Catholic Community of Buffalo, North is seeking a full time Faith Formation Director. QUALIFICATIONS: • Have a degree in or equivalent experience as Faith Formation Director or related area of experience. • Three years successful experience in a similar position. • Must be Virtus trained, (Creating A Safe Environment) in the Diocese of Buffalo, New York. Training can be provided. • Proficient in MS Office Suite. (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel,) Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written. • Proficient in usage and understanding of social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, digital learning platforms and portals. • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize work effectively, handle multiple projects at any given time, and work well independently. • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality. • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish in good standing with the Church (this requirement may be satisfied by a person who has knowledge of the Catholic Church, Catholic Sacraments, Catholic rites & liturgies). Please provide a letter of good standing from pastor. • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work effectively & efficiently, including developing and maintaining effective record-keeping systems. • Work flexible hours depending on the requirements of the position throughout the year. • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of current trends and practices. • Provide strong leadership in the area of discipleship. • Work collaboratively with volunteers, committees, parishioners and family leaders. • On a regular basis evaluate and assess the work of discipleship with the family. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Early childhood religious education • Religious Education grades kindergarten through grade 12. • Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion and Confirmation • Identify programs and initiatives that will foster missionary discipleship across all areas of catechesis. • Collaborate with OCIA and Adult Confirmation programs and oversee the OCIC program and baptism preparation for the family of parishes. • Collaborate with St. Mark School teachers and administrators for sacramental instruction and religious instruction. • Us recommended resources provided by the Diocese of Buffalo. • Maintain volunteer and sacramental records. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate in a positive way with volunteers, parishioners and CCBN staff. • Completion and continued compliance of the Safe Environment Certification Training and Virtus. • Create an engaging environment for students, volunteers, and families. • Inform parishioners of these recommended programs and initiatives. • Consult regularly with pastor, and key members of the family of parishes. • Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required. • Perform other duties as assigned to assist the Business Manager and Pastor. Salary:
