Description: The responsibilities of the Research Assistant Professor position will be to facilitate the management and completion of grant-funded research in the Brain Plasticity Lab at the University of Illinois Chicago, Department of Physical Therapy. The individual will work with the PI, Dr. Sangeetha Madhavan, and be expected to perform all duties and responsibilities associated with the research project, from human subjects review to dissemination of results. The individual will also be expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students working on the research project and work with the PI to seek external funding and support for future projects. The position will also include teaching courses with the department, including developing curriculum, delivering the course material, performing evaluations, advising students, and attending faculty meetings. Duties & Responsibilities: ·Prepare materials for submission to grant agencies and foundations ·Prepare materials for Human Subjects Institutional Review Board review ·Recruit and enroll study participants ·Collect and analyze data ·Maintain research equipment ·Supervise undergraduate and graduate students working on the research project ·Attend project meetings and manage project-related email ·Disseminate research results via academic journal articles, reports, presentations, etc. ·Maintain the budget for the research project. ·Prepare scheduled reports describing research progress ·Developing the curriculum ·Delivering the course material (e.g., performing lectures) ·Evaluating academic progress of students ·Meeting, advising, and counseling students with respect to the course content ·Attendance and participation in departmental and college faculty meetings ·Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences, Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field. At least 3 years of research experience with specialized expertise in neuroimaging.
