Join us to help deliver the next groundbreaking Apple product.
Description As part of the Silicon Validation Team, you will focus on silicon validation, debugging, and root cause analysis related to anomalous behaviors using system workloads (circuit marginalities, process-design interactions, logic bugs).
You will join a team responsible for validating Apple SoCs with system workloads. Your role involves working closely with functional test writers to understand high-level architectures of each IP block within Apple SoCs and defining validation plans. You will execute system tests via scripts/automation frameworks on large volumes of prototype SoCs across Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) corners.
You will identify potential issues and characterize the functional voltage (lvcc) of SoCs under such workloads. When issues occur, you will be the first line of debugger to triage and isolate failures. You will collaborate with domain experts to define Design of Experiments (DoEs), develop root cause hypotheses, and test workarounds. Additionally, you will characterize functional voltages, analyze data across voltage domains, and provide feedback to product engineers to define operational voltages and testing criteria. You will also work with downstream testing teams to resolve issues in their environments.
Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation, software engineering, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SoC bring-up.
Experience with system debugging.
Knowledge of computer architectures (cache, memory hierarchy, data pipelines) and logic design.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Tcl.
At Apple, base pay is part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range, allowing for growth and development. The pay range for this role is $171,600 to $302,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees have opportunities to participate in stock programs, including discounted stock purchases and restricted stock units. Benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, discounts on products, educational reimbursement, and potential bonuses or relocation assistance.
