JOB GOAL: The Principal Account Clerk 2 supports District strategies, goals, and objectives by preparing and processing accurate and timely vendor payments, billrolls, accounting reports, complying with all established District, municipal, DESE, and general accounting principles and procedures, as well as with state and federal tax agencies, pension systems, and a wide range of corporate vendors.

Responsibilities Demonstrate a working knowledge of general accounting, accounts payable, and procurement procedures. Ensure high accuracy in processing district finances. Effectively communicate with all stakeholders. Collaborate with team members to meet department/district goals. Transmit and process billrolls and other accounting documents, reports, and memoranda timely. Coordinate with site and District personnel and administrators for school operations and maintenance. Review purchase requisitions for appropriate budget codes and adherence to policies. Verify sufficient budget balances before expenditures. Manage 1099 reporting. Process vendor disbursements based on invoice, purchase order, and receipt reconciliation. Prepare remittance information for mailing with checks. Ensure accurate vendor payments through communication. Respond to vendor and stakeholder inquiries. Maintain accurate accounting files and system updates. Coordinate with the City on stop payments and check status. Process requisitions and purchase orders, assign vendor numbers, and verify accuracy. Update vendor payment information as needed. Assist in posting deposits, cash receipts, journal entries, and budget transfers. Maintain confidentiality and accountability. Collect, sort, and review timesheets; prepare staff time reports. Apply knowledge of MGL 30B, tax laws, and procurement regulations. Handle multiple tasks under pressure with accuracy. Exercise good judgment and demonstrate high-level customer service. Supervise other account clerks if necessary. Assist with audit preparations and reconcile financial reports. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with MUNIS software and MS Office. Effective communication skills. Strong analytical skills and mathematical proficiency. Consistent job attendance. Exceptional customer service and professional demeanor. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Teamwork and independent judgment skills. Knowledge of municipal and DESE accounting procedures and MA procurement law. Education & Experience Requirements Five years of senior administrative support experience, preferably with bookkeeping or accounting responsibilities. Post-secondary studies in accounting, finance, or management preferred. Combination of experience and education acceptable.
