This position requires the Cardiovascular Sonographer III to be proficient in performing cardiac diagnostic tests for the determination, treatment, and prognosis of cardiac and vascular disorders. The Cardiovascular Sonographer III is supervised by the Chief Cardiovascular Tech and/or the Cardiopulmonary Manager, and is under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Medical and Administrative Director. This position requires knowledge of both department and hospital policies and procedures relating to the field of Cardiology. Cardiovascular Sonographer III should have knowledge of the arterial vascular system. Cardiovascular Sonographer III should have extensive knowledge of either cardiac or vascular system. This position may act as the lead tech The value you'll bring to the team: Performs special procedures in Cardiovascular Department Performs Transthoracic Echocardiograms Performs Transesophageal Echocardiograms Performs Stress Test Echocardiograms May perform carotid and/or vascular ultrasound studies Uses independent judgment to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic measurements and image Trains staff and/or precepts students Records, processes, files and charges daily pertinent patient data relative to job duties Administers cardiac diagnostic procedures for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients Assures responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while in the sonographers care Coordinates work schedule with others cardiovascular staff to assure appropriate coverage Maintains ultrasound equipment, and work area. Reports any equipment failures, or supply needs to the Cardiopulmonary Manager Facilitates timely test interpretation; contacts physicians as needed according to established procedure Works with Cardiopulmonary Manager to increase outpatient procedures and improve quality of care Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed : Required: Associate Required 1 Work Experience Required
