Complex Claims Consultant

to handle Private D&O, Fiduciary, and Employment Practice Liability (EPL) Claims. The role involves working with insureds, attorneys, and brokers on mid to high severity claims, investigating, coordinating discovery, and collaborating on litigation strategies. The ideal candidate will review coverage, determine liability and damages, set reserves, and negotiate settlements. Strong organizational skills, independence, and responsiveness are essential. This position offers a hybrid work environment at various CNA locations, with a preference for candidates near NYC or other locations listed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Manage complex Financial Lines claims, verifying policy coverage, conducting investigations, and authorizing disbursements. Provide exceptional customer service, managing all aspects of claims and maintaining communication. Review policy language, establish reserves, and partner with coverage counsel. Investigate claims thoroughly, gathering pertinent information and statements. Develop and execute claim resolution strategies, including negotiations and litigation management. Manage claim budgets, oversee resources, and authorize expenses. Identify subrogation, salvage, and fraud opportunities for further action. Ensure compliance with protocols, timely resolution, and proper documentation. Report significant risks and losses to senior leadership. Maintain expertise in insurance laws and regulations, and mentor less experienced staff. Skills & Qualifications

Deep knowledge of commercial insurance, policies, and claims practices. Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills. Experience interpreting complex policies and managing priorities. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; JD preferred; 5-7 years of relevant experience. Salary range in certain jurisdictions: $72,000 - $141,000 annually, based on experience and location.
