Senior Legal Counsel – Performance Market
The Senior Legal Counsel will be part of the North American legal organization within Wolters Kluwer's law department, primarily supporting the Tax and Accounting (TAA) Division’s commercial activities in North America. This includes serving the Preparer and Canada software businesses (the Performance Segment) and supporting other TAA North America segments such as Professional and Research & Advisory as needed. The role reports to the Assistant General Counsel for TAA North America.
Responsibilities:
Provide legal counseling on commercial, corporate, technology, intellectual property, cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory matters.
Draft, negotiate, interpret, and manage technology and commercial agreements.
Advise on regulatory compliance, including tax-related financial products.
Collaborate with the business on customer offerings, services, agreements, marketing, data protection, and cybersecurity risks.
Build strong relationships with the Performance Software management team to ensure high-quality legal support.
Develop knowledge of TAA North America’s operations, markets, and regulatory environment to advise proactively.
Manage outside counsel efficiently when necessary.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and law degree (J.D. or LL.B).
8-10 years of progressively responsible corporate/commercial legal experience, ideally including experience at a law firm and in-house.
Extensive experience with domestic and international commercial contracts.
Strong knowledge of SaaS agreements, software, and e-commerce transactions.
Ability to work effectively with senior management and influence stakeholders.

Compensation:
Target salary range for CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, WA: $145,500 - $203,900
