Washington, DC
in their search for a
Payroll Accountant
to join their team. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in payroll-related accounting, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience with end-to-end payroll processing, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll in compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations
Review, verify, and reconcile timekeeping records and payroll data
Prepare and post payroll journal entries to the general ledger
Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure proper documentation for audits
Reconcile payroll-related accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements and other payroll-related filings
Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to address payroll inquiries and resolve issues
Assist with process improvements and payroll system enhancements as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and accounting principles
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
