The selected candidate will be offered a salary of $110,000.00 - $120,000.00. The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community. The Division of Youth and Family Justice (DYFJ) provides a wide range of services and programs for youth at every stage of the juvenile justice process. Our goals are to: Build stronger and safer communities and advance public safety by preventing juveniles from entering the New York City's juvenile justice system. Provide therapeutic treatment and services to youth in our custodial care. Help juveniles access the tools they need to leave the justice system for good. We strive to help families and young people by providing supportive services that are responsive to the needs of individual youth and families. Close to Home is a residential placement and aftercare program for New York City youth who are adjudicated delinquent by the NYC Family Court and ordered into placement. It allows young people responsible for a delinquent act to receive placement services close to their communities, combining time in residential programs and in the community with specialized services and monitoring. DYFJ is seeking a candidate to serve as the Close to Home (CTH) Executive Director of Placement and Permanency. Reporting to the Assistant Commissioner, the Executive Director will oversee the Placement and Permanency staff providing case management and support to youth both in placement and aftercare. The role involves ensuring youth needs are addressed to improve outcomes and reduce recidivism, focusing on health and safety. The duties include: Supervising and managing the Placement and Permanency unit and case management for youth. Identifying operational issues and developing relevant protocols and procedures. Developing systems to monitor service delivery and case management processes. Supporting staff and provider staff in planning and service delivery for youth. Ensuring families are supported and youth are connected to community resources. Using data, technology, and evidence-based practices to inform case management. Working with the Assistant Commissioner to set policies and procedures. Collaborating with provider agencies to ensure proper service delivery and develop corrective action plans. Monitoring compliance with child welfare guidelines. Overseeing adherence to juvenile justice standards. Maintaining relationships with community groups, agencies, and providers. Conducting facility visits and engaging with staff and youth. Leading stakeholder meetings and collaborating on incident reviews. Providing on-call coverage for critical incidents. Developing policies and procedures for CTH guidelines. Assessing the effectiveness of the CTH continuum. Reviewing RFPs for foster care and preventive services. Monitoring case data to ensure safety and appropriate service delivery. Managing quality assurance and compliance. Additional Information:

A master's degree in social work from an accredited school and four years of full-time, paid professional experience in a child care setting, including two years in an administrative capacity. A master's degree from an accredited college in sociology, psychology, education, public administration, or a related field, and five years of relevant experience, including two years in an administrative role. Equivalent education and/or experience, with at least two years of administrative experience in a child care setting.
