Position Summary The Health Information Managment (HIM) Analyst is responsible for the ongoing management of medical record quality and completeness to ensure a complete legal health record and its release. The HIM Analyst ensures that the record information maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems. This position is responsible for assisting physicians, staff and ancillary departments with EPIC related deficiencies and questions, running EPIC reports, analyzing charts, assisting with release of information (ROI), retrieving, assembling, validating, and performing quality review of charts. Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job Delivers excellent customer service, answers phones, assists and directs incoming callers and walk-in customers to the Health Information Management (HIM) department

Upholds appropriate privacy and security of all protected health information as well as maintains integrity of all records

Communicates effectively and professionally with physicians, ancillary staff, and other third-party persons

Demonstrates the ability to process, assemble, scan, and validate patient records within multiple electronic systems

Demonstrates the ability to validate the authenticity of an Authorization to Release PHI (protected health information) in accordance with our policies and procedures and appropriately process the ROI

Effectively analyzes charts for deficiencies according to various regulatory requirements

Effectively maintains suspension list for delinquent providers via Epic reporting

Attends department-specific education/training, in services, and staff meetings

Assists physicians and ancillary departments with chart completion to comply with regulatory requirements

Accurately preps, scans, validates and analyzes patient records

Demonstrates ability to process ROI staying within state and federal regulations

Demonstrates knowledge of mandatory medical records documentation elements

Actively participates in department functions to enhance daily operations

Demonstrates the ability to utilize Epic, Onbase, Plato, Rightfax and other necessary programs

Other duties as assigned

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
