Media is a critical area of focus and growth for Citi Personal Banking. The Personal Banking Media team comprises product and channel marketers responsible for driving growth while transforming our digital marketing capabilities to shift the quality and mix of digitally sourced accounts. This includes profitably acquiring new accounts, managing key acquisition channels, launching new and refreshed products, partnering on
through-the-line campaigns , testing new tactics, and driving marketing innovation. The VP of Paid Search Acquisitions will lead the operations and execution of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaigns for credit card and retail bank acquisitions, focusing on media management, technical optimization, budgeting, testing, and reporting. The role involves identifying new marketing channel opportunities, process improvements, channel expansion, restructuring, and quality assurance. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Digital Channels team, broader Citi digital acquisitions team, data science, risk, fraud, legal, compliance teams, as well as Citi’s digital media agency and vendor partners. Strong cross-functional skills are essential. Responsibilities: Collaborate with agency and industry partners, including media and analytics teams, to ensure maximum value delivery to Citi through flawless execution and strategic support. Manage technical account restructures and audit programs for efficiency. Oversee channel operations with business partners, ensuring compliance with Citi terms and conditions. Own channel reporting, ensuring accuracy and practical insights for decision-making. Lead tracking, testing, and QA of SEM campaigns for accuracy and functionality. Ensure compliance with targeting, creative, and modeling approvals for SEM campaigns. Manage end-to-end campaign processes, from setup to reporting, with meticulous attention to detail. Identify efficiencies and improve effectiveness through innovation in strategy, targeting, and process. Partner with stakeholders on reporting, tracking, and forecasting to evaluate performance and inform future strategies. Identify and size new acquisition opportunities, assess customer impacts, and recommend growth initiatives. Qualifications: 6-10 years of experience in marketing strategy development, product, or channel management, with strong preference for search marketing expertise. Deep understanding of SEM ecosystem, best practices, and data-driven decision-making. Knowledge of channel tracking and measurement capabilities. Hands-on SEM campaign management experience preferred. Analytic mindset with knowledge of testing and learning methodologies. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and stakeholder influence skills. Ability to prioritize and deliver results with urgency. Project management experience in marketing campaigns is essential. Experience with launching new marketing channels, products, or managing complex projects. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; quick learner of new systems. Financial services industry experience is a plus. Leadership Competencies: Self-starter with strategic vision and ability to coordinate multiple projects. Inspire and prioritize team efforts across internal and agency teams. Excellent facilitator and collaborator for marketing solutions. Resourceful, pragmatic, and independent thinker. Meticulous with a process-oriented approach. Strong interpersonal, listening, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve complex problems. Comfortable in a matrixed, complex environment. Accountable and decisive with a strong work ethic. Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
