TreePeople unites with communities to grow a greener, shadier and more water-secure region at homes, neighborhoods, schools and in the local mountains. We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting our project team with financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, a solid understanding of non-profit accounting principles, and experience financially supporting multiple projects, grants, or contracts. The candidate will require excellent communication abilities to provide financial support for finance and multiple project managers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets for multiple projects and programs. Analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement for multiple projects. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Support the budget process and month-end close by collecting data, consolidating information, and providing analysis. Provide essential financial analysis and support based on non-profit and GAAP principles. Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for deviations from budget, forecasts, and project plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and understand business performance. Assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance dashboards. Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. MBA is a plus. Five or more years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting, preferably within a non-profit setting. Proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks, or other nonprofit fund accounting software. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Excellent time management and leadership skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
