Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is hiring Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to provide high-quality, mobile wound care services throughout Texas. Our team serves patients in skilled nursing facilities, long-term care centers, and private homes, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care directly to those who need it most.
This role is ideal for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who are clinically focused, organized, and ready to work in dynamic, field-based care settings with the support of a collaborative team and operational infrastructure.

Minimum scheduling: At least two shifts per work week
Shifts typically between 7:00 AM 7:00 PM local time
Full-time: 30+ hours/week
Part-time: Minimum two shifts/week
On-call or weekend coverage may be required with advance notice
Employment classification is based on scheduled hours, patient volume, and business demand
Providers may structure routes to optimize daily travel and patient care efficiency
Hourly compensation plus mileage reimbursement

Field Assistant Support:
Based on clinical volume and budget, Field Assistants may be assigned to support APPs with documentation, wound photography, logistics, and care coordination.
Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of wound types (pressure ulcers, diabetic wounds, surgical wounds, venous/arterial ulcers)
Perform procedures such as sharp debridement, biopsies, NPWT, and dressing applications
Develop and adjust individualized wound care plans based on healing progress
Educate patients, families, and facility staff on wound prevention and maintenance
Maintain accurate and timely documentation using HIPAA-compliant EMR systems
Drive between patient locations as required; mileage may vary and may exceed miles per day depending on coverage area and provider s location
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned
Required:
Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
Active, unrestricted license in Texas (NP or PA-C)
National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, or similar)
BLS certification
Valid Texas driver s license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
Wound care certification (CWSP, CWS) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
DEA registration not required but preferred
Experience in SNF, LTC, home health, or mobile care settings
Proficiency with EMR and mobile documentation tools
The ideal candidate is reliable, clinically strong, and comfortable providing field-based care. They are skilled at clinical decision-making, efficient in documentation, and effective in managing time and travel. A professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and compassion toward patients are essential.
Nurse Practitioners:
Active Texas NP license
National certification (AANP or ANCC)
Prescriptive authority agreement with supervising physician
DEA and Texas DPS controlled substances registration preferred but not required
20 CE hours/year (including 5 pharmacotherapeutics)
Physician Assistants:
Active Texas PA license
National certification (NCCPA)
Delegation agreement filed with Texas Medical Board
DEA and TX Controlled Substances Permit preferred but not required
40 CME hours every two years
All APPs must maintain full compliance with the Texas Medical Board or Texas Board of Nursing.
This mobile role requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Providers must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and drive between patient sites, which may involve extended distances based on assignment.
Strong clinical judgment, focus, and adaptability are essential. Proficiency using mobile devices, EMRs, and communication tools (e.g., email, Slack) is required for patient care and internal coordination.
