PCU RN Job Details Location: Shelby, North Carolina 28150 Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (August 25, 2025 - November 22, 2025) Healthcare Setting: 32-bed Progressive Care Unit in a 241-bed hospital (Level 3 Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center) Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend Holiday Expectations: Work 75% of holidays during contract Scrub Color: Navy Parking: Free onsite parking Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1570 - $1680 PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit RN experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Proficient in tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood product administration, wound care, and central line management Experience with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Ability to float to other units and facilities within the region as needed Strong teamwork and communication skills PCU RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients with CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, abdominal illnesses, respiratory issues, diabetes, kidney disease, and substance withdrawal Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage cardiac drips Perform wound care, dressing changes, and manage central lines and chest tubes Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomists, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists Accurately document patient care and interventions in EPIC EMR Float to other units or facilities within the region as required Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training to ensure best practices Apply now to join our healthcare team and start your travel nursing journey in Shelby, North Carolina!
