PICU RN Job Details - Milwaukee, WI Estimated Weekly Pay: $2100-$2250 Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse) Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53226 Unit: Pediatric Cardiac ICU (West 3) - 24 beds Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Schedule: 36 hours per week; includes every other weekend and holiday rotation Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 8/25/2025 - End: 11/22/2025) Electronic Medical Record: Epic Float Requirements: May float to NICU and general PICU as needed Scrub Colors: Any professional scrubs Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) PICU RN Qualifications Active Wisconsin or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) license Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and PALS certifications; ACLS preferred At least 12-18 months of recent high-acuity pediatric cardiac ICU experience required Level I Trauma nursing experience highly preferred Strong clinical skills in pediatric cardiac assessment and critical thinking Experience caring for neonates, infants, and adult congenital heart patients PICU RN Responsibilities Coordinate and deliver nursing care for pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including those with open heart surgeries, heart transplants, and open chests Provide advanced care for hemodynamically compromised patients and those with respiratory failure Utilize critical thinking and advanced cardiac assessment skills to optimize patient outcomes Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure family-centered care Float to Neonatal ICU (NICU) and general PICU units as needed Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including dress code and vaccination requirements Apply now to join our dedicated healthcare team in Milwaukee and make a difference in pediatric cardiac care.
