Position SummaryAs a CNC Machinist at TST, you'll set up, program, and operate CNC equipment to machine components that meet contract requirements and tight tolerances. You'll work from complex blueprints, CAD/CAM programs, and GD&T specifications to produce parts in carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys.This role demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and adapt in a production environment where quality, safety, and deadlines matter.Key Responsibilities Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and horizontal boring mills to produce high-tolerance partsRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T specificationsUse CAD/CAM software (SmartCam, MasterCam, or equivalent) to create or modify part programsSelect, install, and adjust tooling, workholding devices, and attachments to meet machining requirementsPerform machine offsets, tool changes, and part inspections to maintain quality and tolerancesOperate both manual and CNC equipment as needed for production support Inspect first-run and in-process parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instrumentsModify programs and machining processes to improve accuracy and efficiencyMaintain machine operation by performing basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting issuesCollaborate with engineers, leads, and quality control to ensure parts meet customer and contract requirementsFollow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area Required Skills & Experience•4+ years CNC machining experience in a defense, industrial, or shipyard environment•Proficiency in CNC programming, setup, and operation of lathes and mills•Experience using CAD/CAM software (SmartCam, MasterCam, or equivalent)•Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation•Skilled in working with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty alloys•Knowledge of cutting tool selection, setup, and maintenance•Proficient in using precision measurement tools for inspection•Experience meeting NAVSEA, NNS, MIL-SPEC, or other high-spec manufacturing standards preferred•Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills•High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or apprenticeship preferredWhy Join Our Team Competitive pay based on experienceFlexible Schedule Options: 4x10 Day, 4x10 Evening, 4x10 Night, and Weekend Shifts Available$500-$1000 Employee Referral BonusCompany-paid medical insurance (employee only)Dental & vision benefits401(k) with company matchOpportunities for growth and advancementSupportive, safety-focused, veteran-owned workplaceTST Fab & Machine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
