Unit Description:
Join our dynamic 64-bed Emergency Department, featuring hallway utilization and 75 bays, including areas for holds and pediatrics. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care for critically ill patients, behavioral health patients, and those requiring observation or acute inpatient admission. We handle an average of 150-190 visits daily, ensuring a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent Emergency Department experience required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • Travel experience is required (must have completed at least one contract assignment).
  • High volume/fast-paced experience is preferred.
  • Certifications required:
    • NJ License/Compact
    • AHA BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • NIHSS
  • Note: Pending certifications or those expiring within 30 days of submission are NOT accepted.

Work Schedule:

  • Required time off (RTO) should not exceed 3 days.
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) or 3 weekends per month depending on departmental needs.
  • No holiday requirements.
  • No block scheduling or special requests will be accommodated.

Patient Care Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Monitor and manage critically ill and behavioral health patients effectively.
  • Utilize Cerner for charting and documentation.
  • Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1 or 5:1, depending on patient acuity.

First Day Instructions/Orientation:

Failure to complete the full orientation will result in immediate termination- once scheduled, candidate does not have the option of rescheduling any classes.

Candidate will receive an email directly from Inspira the Friday before the Monday start. The email will contain the following information;

  1. They will receive instructions for signing on to the Virtual Welcome meeting and online Health Stream Module from Human Resources sometime prior to 8:30 on Monday. Monday GEO will be Virtual from their own computer. The modules assigned must be completed by Monday or they will be removed from the orientation list.
  2. In person class schedule list - Typically Tues-Thurs- these classes are held in multiple locations. The location may not be listed in the original email, candidate is required to use Health Stream to determine class location day of. Please Note *The POCT class will required to attend and is not during orientation week.
  3. Unit based orientation schedule from manager.
  4. Badge ID Link - instructions on how to make an appointment t o receive their ID badge in person. Photo submissions are not permitted. Must be complete during orientation. The Badge is required for clock ins.
