Pay Information $2,247 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in a PCU or ICU setting License: Current state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Proficient in cardiac monitoring and management of patients with chest tubes, fresh tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and postoperative care. Experience with epidurals, management of non-titratable cardiac drips, IV insulin protocols, and titration of insulin drips required. Ability to provide care for patients on external BiPAP and CPAP is essential. Experience with total laryngectomy and performing Doppler flap checks is necessary. Travelers may be required to float to different levels of care, including medical-surgical, PCU, and ICU. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in a Surgical Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will provide care for patients with a variety of surgical conditions. Expected patient diagnoses include ENT surgeries, thoracic procedures, general surgeries, and urology cases. Candidates should be comfortable managing a patient load of 3 to 4. Weekend work is required, typically every other weekend, with the possibility of consecutive weekends based on operational needs. The nurse will have responsibilities that may include charge nurse duties depending on the needs of the unit. Floating to different units may be required, and refusal to float could result in contract termination. Travelers are expected to adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
