With rapid growth and a commitment to excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical in supporting the production of high-quality components that meet precise engineering specifications through expert CNC programming, process optimization, and collaboration with our machining and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, edit, and maintain CNC programs for mills, lathes, and mill-turn equipment using CAD/CAM software (e.g., CamWorks, Mastercam, or similar).
Set up and prove out new programs on the shop floor to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency.
Select optimal tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds for a variety of materials and part geometries.
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
Collaborate closely with machinists, engineers, and quality control to improve part quality and resolve technical issues.
Optimize existing programs to reduce cycle times, extend tool life, and improve overall machining performance.
Maintain organized documentation of all CNC program files, tool lists, and setup sheets.
Assist in designing or selecting fixtures to support efficient and secure machining.
Conduct first article inspections and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specification.
Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of CNC programming experience with mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines.
Proficient in CAD/CAM software (CamWorks, Mastercam, or equivalent).
Solid knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc and Mitsubishi.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with 4- or 5-axis CNC machining.
Familiarity with Zeiss/Calypso CMM programming.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for job tracking.
Experience with DNC software and post-processing tools.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods while operating and observing CNC machinery. The role involves frequent walking, bending, reaching, and handling of parts and tooling. Programmers may occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and must be able to maneuver around machines and workstations safely. The work environment includes both manufacturing floor and office settings, with regular exposure to machine noise, metal shavings, coolants, and varying temperatures.
