• Other details: The facility which is stroke-certified and trauma level 3 is looking for a provider to cover on-site clinical hours and beeper call if needed. There are an average of 9 patients per shift. This position is for a midlevel provider to work full-time in a preoperative clinic performing consults on surgical patients, including risk assessment, information gathering, patient interviews, and completing full consult notes for day-of-surgery cases. Responsibilities include reporting abnormal labs and test results to the medical director, addressing patient concerns, answering RN questions, and alerting the medical director to any logistical issues. Candidates must have surgical experience, at least 50 clinical services, cases, or assessments in an acute care hospital within the last 24 months, and meet privileging requirements for a hospital outpatient department. An active CA license and CA DEA are required, with at least two years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty and explanations for any gaps greater than three months. Case logs must be provided upon presentation for surgical specialties. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for approximately 14 weeks, with guaranteed eight-hour workdays and overtime applying after eight hours. Privileging timelines begin once the RFA and application are submitted, with RFAs typically processed within hours and applications due within five days.
