Warehouse Specialist
The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in supporting our chemical manufacturing operations by safely and efficiently managing materials within the warehouse. This position ensures accurate inventory handling, regulatory compliance, and smooth coordination across departments. Strong collaboration is essential, as this role works closely with Manufacturing, Production Planning, R&D, Quality, and Logistics teams to keep materials flowing and operations running efficiently. We're looking for someone experienced in warehouse operationsideally in a chemical or highly regulated environmentwho thrives in a team setting, communicates well across functions, and brings a strong focus on safety and detail. Principal Responsibilities Shipping and Receiving:
Load/unload trucks and containers safely and accurately. Prepare and process outgoing shipments and documentation per regulatory standards (e.g. chemicals, international, waste). Maintain ERP system records for transfers, orders, receipts, and returns. Partner with Logistics and Planning to ensure timely deliveries and resolve issues.
Inventory Management:
Organize and stage materials using FIFO and ERP tracking. Conduct inventory counts and resolve discrepancies quickly. Monitor supply levels and place orders for non-stock items in coordination with Production and Procurement.
Safety Compliance:
Uphold all warehouse and chemical handling safety procedures. Operate equipment (forklifts, MEWPs) safely; complete required inspections. Maintain current certifications (e.g. Hazmat, IATA, DOT shipping). Keep workspace clean and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
Process Improvement:
Recommend and support improvements to warehouse systems and workflows. Align with company values and strategy in driving efficiency and safety.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work daily with Manufacturing to support production needs. Coordinate with R&D, Quality, and Risk teams on material flows, storage, and documentation. Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and process improvement initiatives. Communicate proactively to keep internal stakeholders informed of status or disruptions.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience:
Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics, preferably within a chemical manufacturing environment. Certifications (preferred):
Forklift & MEWP (Scissor Lift) 40-hour DOT Hazmat training DOT Hazmat shipping IATA Dangerous Goods
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in warehouse management software and ERP systems; Basic math and computer skills. Physical Requirements:
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects safely. Knowledge:
Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to chemical handling; Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the storage and handling of chemicals. Soft Skills:
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork abilities. Additional Qualifications:
