Material Handler
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support our Copper Department. In this role, you will manage the flow, storage, and preservation of materials critical to production. You will verify and document incoming materials, maintain inventory levels, and ensure materials are readily available to prevent production delays. Your efforts will directly contribute to the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing operations. Responsibilities Material Storage & Verification: Receive, count, and verify materials from SMD Stores, Main Stores, and the Copper Department. Ensure materials are stored in designated locations as instructed by the Lead Operator. Documentation & Communication: Record all received materials and maintain proper documentation. File material sign-off records in the appropriate filing cabinets for future reference. Report any shortages or discrepancies to the Lead Operator and the issuing department. Inventory Management: Regularly check material racks and bins throughout the day to ensure sufficient hardware is available for production needs. Extrusion Monitoring: Perform daily checks on copper extrusion stock to avoid production downtime. Reordering & Requests: Use internal systems like the Dashboard to proactively order consumables. Submit requests via the SMD database for additional parts when directed by the Lead Operator. Preservation & Handling: Ensure proper material handling to avoid damage and preserve quality during movement and storage. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Previous material handling, inventory control, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail. Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment is a plus. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and respond quickly to material needs. Dependable, punctual, and safety-minded team contributor. Willingness to learn and adhere to safety and inventory control procedures. Physical & Environmental Demands This position may require standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating material handling equipment in a production environment. Exposure to industrial machinery and copper materials. Flexibility to work shifts or overtime as needed.
