Front Office Medical Assistant
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Office Medical Assistant to join our team in Plano, TX. This role is essential in creating a positive first impression for patients while supporting both administrative and clinical workflows. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting and be proficient in AthenaOne. Prior experience in Oncology or Colon & Rectal specialties is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Greet and check in patients, ensuring all required forms and documentation are completed Schedule appointments and manage calendars for providers Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with basic intake procedures (e.g., verifying medications, allergies, and demographic info) Record vital signs and update patient records in AthenaOne Answer incoming calls, route messages, and respond to patient inquiries professionally Phone in prescriptions and assist with follow-up calls as directed by providers Notify providers of patient cancellations and no-shows Maintain cleanliness and organization of front desk and waiting area Prepare charts, scan documents, and manage electronic records Assist with general office duties including faxing, filing, and data entry Required Skills: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Front Office Coordinator in a healthcare setting Proficiency in AthenaOne electronic health record system Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in Oncology or Colon & Rectal medical practices Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred, but non-certified candidates with relevant experience will be considered Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Experience Level: Entry to Mid-Level
Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
