Asahi Kasei America, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Software Reliability Engineer to be a key role in coordination and execution of the application maintenance. You will work closely with team managers and other IT department members to plan and cooperate on various types of projects and requests. This position must be able to sync the progress of the project efficiently with SRE team Manager in relation to the project direction and target goals. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure and maintain stability of company applications, and also to provide software related technical support and expertise for internal or business related projects. Such activity includes continuous deployment, monitoring, supervision, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and technical documentation of business applications, as well as project management, planning and estimation of tasks. Benefits Competitive compensation with bonuses Great health benefits Paid time off Paid company holidays Strong company match to 401(k) contributions Tuition reimbursement program Paid parental leave Responsibilities and Duties Technical issues handling for managed applications, response to incidents Supporting incident escalation and troubleshooting, provide technical support when needed Evaluating incidents after resolution, Root cause analysis & communication (Post incident report, active Problem Management) Continuous monitoring of applications (via Zabbix), automate incident responses Operating System Administration Development and management of solutions to increase reliability and control (monitoring using Zabbix, supervision using Grafana and SquaredUp, automation using Azure DevOps pipelines) Technical & Basic Functional knowledge of managed applications Lead Knowledge sharing practices across the team and with other teams (ServiceDesk for example) Joint work with Developers when needed to improve reliability of Applications Adhere to company procedures, define, and regularly improve team procedures Participate in the on-call rotation for the IT group Train and Assist Junior SRE and SRE Execute safe code promotion through our non-production and production environments respecting the business constraints Use DevOps toolkit to execute and optimize code pushes (Azure DevOps pipelines) Able to design reliable and Pipelines and to implement them Includes in house implemented applications (ERP, MES) or vendor applications Joint work with Developers, DBA, Support Teams, and Infrastructure Teams Lead various IT implementation projects as Technical Project Lead Tasks definition and assignment Accountable for project success Coordination of related activities between teams Act as technical analyst on various Business/IT Project initiatives Manage time effectively to ensure that tasks and projects are delivered on schedule Coordinate project tasks and goals efficiently with SRE Team manager and related project stake holders Report progress, communicate proactively and efficiently Managed applications related requests as non-production environments refreshes Servers/Platforms upgrades, infrastructure led required changes Technical Administration Activities Security Audits Focus on Continuous Improvement, be force of proposal of improvements Standardization Practices Automation (through DevOps toolkit for example) Follow technologies trends to propose improvements Help streamline practices globally Qualifications / Requirements Minimum of 6 years' experience supporting Business Applications required Strong Knowledge of a Project Management Tool (MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet) required Knowledge on NoSQL type of Database System like MongoDB, Cassandra is plus Strong IT general culture, understanding of IT Software & Systems architectures Strong Knowledge of Microsoft Ecosystem (Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS) Strong Knowledge of SQL Language and relational database fundamentals Strong Knowledge of a scripting language (PowerShell preferred) Strong knowledge of a cloud platform like Azure or AWS required (evidence of related certification preferred) Knowledge of web-related technologies Strong Knowledge of a DevOps toolkit (Azure DevOps Server is preferred) Strong Knowledge on Linux (Ubuntu preferred) Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MariaDB or MySQL is plus Knowledge of Python is plus Knowledge of Ansible is plus Strong Knowledge of a monitoring & supervision platform (Zabbix is preferred) and of monitoring practices Knowledge of ERP Microsoft Dynamics (Dynamics 365, Dynamics Business Central) is a plus Experience with ServiceNow Enterprise Service Management (ESM) is a plus Ability to speak, read and write English is required Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, testing skills Able to lead cross-functional teams across Infrastructure, Developers, Designers and Supporters Good project management experience in terms of scope definition, milestone tracking, risk mitigation, status reporting, stakeholder alignment and commitment to success / Possession of project management related certification is plus Must be organized, results oriented and able to prioritize Ability to detect potential problems to determine and implement solutions proactively Able to teach and train others Able to lead technical project Good written and oral communication skills, able to express and understand complex technical concepts Team player, Collaborative, Knowledge sharing facilitator Self-motivated and willing to take initiative, willing to learn and make the team grow Ability to estimate tasks duration, to define and to respect deadlines DevOps Mindset Practical use of Agile or Kanban methodologies Must be open-minded, able to adapt and accustomed to working across cultures Minimum requirement: 2-years degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Degree in information services, computer science, or related. Minimum of 6 years' experience supporting Business Applications required. Minimum of 3 years' experience closely related to SRE. PMP or similar type of project related certification is a plus.
