The Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University invites applications for the Carter Phillips and Sue Henry Professorship in Political Science, focusing on Law and Politics, broadly understood and open with respect to subfield, to begin in August 2026. Substantive areas of interest include, but are not limited to, international law and norms, the politics and development of the rule of law, and American legal institutions and political development. Candidates are expected to contribute to theoretical debates and to have excellent methodological skills appropriate to their research. Responsibilities of the position include: Maintaining a strong research program. Contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring. Engaging in service to the department, university, and profession. Education and experience requirements: Candidates must have a PhD in Political Science or a related discipline, a substantial record of publications and work in progress, and should provide evidence of accomplishments in teaching and/or mentoring.
