Administrative Assistant (Confidential) Part-Time
The State of Connecticut, Office of the Treasurer is recruiting for a full-time Administrative Assistant (Confidential) to support the Management Services Division. This position is part-time, working Monday to Friday for 25 hours per week, and is centrally located in Hartford, CT. The Office of the Treasurer exists to provide and ensure effective financial management of public resources, high standards of professionalism and integrity, and expanding opportunity for State of Connecticut residents and businesses. The Administrative Assistant (Confidential) will perform the most complex tasks in providing both office administration and secretarial support for a major program. Examples of duties include typing, proofreading, editing, filing, correspondence, report writing, interpersonal communication, processing, personal secretary duties, and office management. Considerable knowledge of office administration and management, department and/or unit policies and procedures, proper grammar, punctuation and spelling, business communications, business math, and considerable interpersonal skills are required. Ability to operate office equipment, office suite software, and take notes is also necessary. Minimum qualifications include four (4) years of experience above the routine clerk level in office support or secretarial work, with one (1) year of the General Experience as a Secretary 2 or its equivalent. College training in the secretarial sciences may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of 15 semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years. Preferred qualifications include experience with office administration procedures, developing and maintaining department procedure manuals, attention to detail in proofreading, grammar, punctuation and spelling documents, organizing and maintaining a filing system, preparing expense requests, assisting with travel arrangements, handling oral and written communications, coordinating all aspects of scheduled meetings, and managing the main phone line.
