Human Resources Clerk

Schedule / hours: Full Time. Monday - Thursday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Friday: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. Includes 30-minute lunch break each day. This position is responsible for: Performs a variety of clerical and secretarial work necessary for the smooth operation of the Corps; performs typing, scanning, and filing as a majority of the responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: Receives income as they come in; makes copies of checks, writes, and sends thank you letters, issues subsidiary receipts, creates deposits, ensures deposit is taken to the bank, and forwards copies of deposit information to DHQ finance according to policy. Prepares and maintains personnel files; files documents alphabetically, numerically or by any other established filing system; maintains and utilizes a bring-up filing system; ensures the files are maintained in an organized and efficient manner. Prepares and maintains office records, reports, calendars, databases, journals, books, logs, lists, etc. in an accurate, complete, and timely manner; updates, posts and indexes information and inputs data into the computer to maintain office records; researches office files to locate specific information found in documents, correspondence, lists, forms, etc. in order to prepare specific reports. Assists in planning the Christmas Kettle Program; assists with hiring and placement of kettle workers and volunteers; evaluates and makes changes to staff/placements as necessary to ensure optimal results; assists in ensuring the overall successful operation of the Corps Kettle program. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work may require driving a vehicle where there may be discomforts associated with heavy traffic or changes in weather. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to effectively read, write, and communicate the English language. What We Are Looking For In You: High school diploma or G.E.D. required with additional secretarial courses preferred. Two years' experience performing clerical work in an office environment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid state driver license. Possess a driver record that qualifies as an eligible driver under TSA Driver Qualification Program.
