Senior Data Analyst Underwriting
Proficient in predictive modeling and data processing, as well as scripting languages, including Python and SQL. Capable of creating, developing, testing and deploying highly adaptive tools, reports and databases used to support business requirements and improvements. Responsible for conducting data analysis, analyzing trends, and creating visualizations and dashboards. The Data & Automation Senior will be expected to understand how the specific task fits into the bigger picture and suggest how to best accomplish within the project framework. The Sr. Analyst can self-manage tasks, projects, and complete them on time and under minimal supervision. Job Duties Design, build and maintain data acquisition and transformation scripts using the following languages: Java, Python, Bash, Tableau, and SQL. Provide ad hoc data analysis in variety of source systems and using a variety of data analysis tools / languages (SQL, Teradata, Tableau, Excel, Access). Identify and analyze trends with root cause analysis while providing solutions. Design, build, and maintain reporting that measures performance of KPIs such as Service Quality, Growth, Turnover, Efficiencies, and Accuracy. Develop internal reports on expenses, incentive programs, initiatives, and performance goals and results, including ad-hoc reports as needed. Organize projects clearly with accurate plan for speed of delivery of initiatives. Investigate, develop and implement new methods, procedures and technologies to promote automated processes and efficiencies within the Underwriting department. Apply accepted principles of systems analysis to simplify procedures and determine the most economical alternatives. Meet with Underwriting Management and Executive staff concerning production reporting and enhancements. Apply statistical analysis and tools to resolve questions regarding production metrics; provide detail regarding problems and offer solutions and recommendations. Review daily reports and perform periodic system reviews to ensure proper functionality. Collaborate with other Business Units such as Business Intelligence and Product Management to accomplish common goals and objectives. Qualifications Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience. 7-9 years Data analytics or related experience Professional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze, organize and recognize priorities. Ability to manage meetings and speak effectively. Advanced skills in using Microsoft Access/ Project/ Word/ Excel skills (incl. VBA, macros, complex calculations, etc.).required Strong SQL skills with data mining knowledge. Tableau preferred. Python a plus. Able to rapidly learn new processes, databases, applications. Innovative mindset with demonstrated creativity or innovation in some past work experience preferred. The starting pay range for this position is: $90,400.00 - $120,300.00 Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
