Preconstruction Designer
Aldridge is seeking a Preconstruction Designer to join our dynamic and energetic design team. This role will be responsible for working and collaborating with the project teams, VDC team, and PreFab team to streamline the coordination process from the start of a project, and remain engaged through installation and project closeout. What you'll do: Collaborate with project teams and PreFab to understand the build plan and design needs for the project Generate system layout and design drawings for constructability Develop detail drawings to scale with installation info and section views as needed Create bill of materials for procurement Coordinate with the project team and BIM team through the 3D modeling and coordination process Identify and understand pertinent project specifications, contract drawings, and scope of work Educate project teams and clients about the benefits of Virtual Design and Construction Assist with scheduling builds for timely delivery Estimating assistance and take-offs Site visits during construction phase as needed Who you are: Minimum of 5+ years in the construction industry Knowledge of electrical materials and install methods Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or successful completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship program Skilled Bluebeam drafting for layout, one-lines, schematics, and conceptual sketches General understanding of computer platforms Knowledge with Autodesk CAD and BIM preferred Knowledge of Trimble and layout devices preferred Who we are: At Aldridge, we invite you to be a part of our dynamic team, where your skills are not only valued but crucial to our success. The actual pay is dependent upon many factors, including: location, work experience, education, training, transferable skills, business needs, and market conditions. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus.
