The Manager, Quality Systems is responsible for the creation, development, implementation, and oversight of an effective Quality Management System program that operates in compliance with corporate quality policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, supporting operations in both the U.S. and Mexico. Essential Job Functions: Administers enhancements to, development of and improvement of QMS documentation and methods. Manages and maintains the Aftermarket America's Division QMS Documentation. Ability to interpret and create Quality documentation, compliant to Safran, customer and regulatory requirements. Ensures regulatory documentation, e.g., FAA, EASA, CAAC, UK CAA, etc., is current, in compliance with regulations and readily available. Facilitate and lead the use of lean/six sigma (advanced quality) tools to evaluate Safran or supplier products and processes. Analyze root causes of deficiencies and ensures proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner as related to Quality management System findings and observations. Lead and participate in cross-functional team efforts to improve Safran business processes. Develop and lead cost effective strategies across Aftermarket Americas (AMA) Divisional sites that results in ongoing significant improvement to Safran products and processes. Identify need for and delivers training and materials to Safran employee related to the Quality Management System. Mentor AMA team members on the Safran Quality Management System. Consolidate and align processes and practices between AMA sites. Assume leadership delegated responsibility when directed. Analyze customer, industry, and/or regulatory specifications and ensure compliance of Safran products and processes. Lead initiatives to attain/maintain applicable global regulatory and quality standards certifications. Develop and maintain a working relationship with key customer procurement and quality organizations to the benefit of the customer and Safran. Manage activities all QMS audit activities including, but not limited to internal, customer and regulatory audits. Other duties as required and assigned. Required Competencies: Bachelor's degree in appropriate technical discipline or 8 or more years' experience managing quality systems Professional certification in Auditing ISO 9001/AS9100/AS9110 series industry standard requirements Fulfill all Environmental, Safety & Health requirements and act in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times. Prior experience managing the integration and implementation of ISO 9001/AS9100 series requirements FAA Repair Station knowledge and experience is preferred ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Certified Quality Manager (CQMgr) is preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: AS9100, AS9110, ISO9001, Mil-Std working knowledge. Working knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) Thorough working knowledge with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and Continuous Improvement SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with problem solving methodology such as A3 and 8D. Experience leading complex projects with remote team members. Knowledge of manufacturing and repair practices and processes. Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Experience with international regulatory requirements and international business partners. Ability to work with a wide range of people at various levels for process improvements and corrective actions. Capacity to work independently and within team environments. There is a travel element to this role and as such you should hold a full driving license, and current passport and have a willingness to travel. Spanish language proficiency is a plus. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and manufacturing/repair facility. Constantly operates and use a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copier/printer. The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations. The ability to observe, identify and assess details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across office for various needs. Work Environment: The work environment is in the office and/or repair facility floor. Noise level in the office is typically low and the repair facility noise level is moderate.
