Scheduling Coordinator

The Scheduling Coordinator works closely with the Radiotherapy Team, serving as a liaison for established patients with the primary goal of monitoring and optimizing progress through the Radiation Oncologist's plan of care. This role coordinates and schedules patients for internal and external appointments, obtaining diagnostic and other health information necessary for ongoing radiotherapy evaluation and management. The Scheduling Coordinator will create a positive and lasting impression for patients and caregivers that will exceed patient expectations and distinguish as the premiere destination for proton therapy treatment. Essential Functions: Promptly coordinates and schedules patient diagnostic and treatment procedures as ordered by the provider. Coordinate and schedule referrals to medical specialists and supportive care services. Processes incoming and outgoing medical records as necessary for coordination of care. Promotes patient advancement through the plan of care, relaying information between patients and clinical providers to support timely decision and progress. Promptly retrieves and responds to phone, fax, and portal communication. Establishes and maintains excellent patient-focused relationships with internal and external members of the care team. Attends Scheduling Coordination team meetings, providing report on patient status and progress. Demonstrates excellent customer service, responding promptly to patient and team member requests. Promotes positive patient experience, encouraging patients and involved caregivers to participate in patient satisfaction surveys. Exercises problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed. Functions as a preceptor to newly hired staff. Adheres to all Tennessee Oncology policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Proficient use of computer technology Professional appearance and communication Dependability Effective task prioritization Preferred Qualifications: Tertiary degree or diploma in a related area of study 1 year of medical office or transferrable experience Conflict management
