The Banquet Server is responsible for preparing for and serving guests during banquet functions in accordance with hotel standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, sanitation, and warm hospitality. Pay Starting At: $20.00/hour + tips
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Review and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO); complete setup accordingly. Set tables in assigned area with clean, pressed linens, silverware, china, and glassware. Properly set table complements. Learn the menu for each function and explain major ingredients and preparation methods. Be present at the assigned station at least 15 minutes before the start. Respond to guest requests and inform supervisor if needed. Keep station neat and clean during service. Refill drinks, remove service items, and ensure guest needs are met. Follow proper in-room clearing and aisle tray procedures. Return reusable items for cleaning and refilling. Assist in setting up and breaking down buffet and special food service tables/stations. Serve and break down coffee breaks, receptions, and other functions as assigned. Manage banquet bars according to policies. Follow cash and guest check procedures. Return excess food to the kitchen following sanitation guidelines. Complete side work such as refilling condiments, linen management, and cleaning equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization in back hall, linen rack, and storage areas. Apply all proper service procedures and assist co-workers when needed. Stay updated on hotel events affecting your responsibilities. Maintain responsible alcohol service certification. Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks during events. Coffee Break Duties
Set up, serve, and clean coffee break areas and carts. Present breaks attractively and keep areas clean. Prepare beverages according to standards. Secure beverage coolers and storage at shift end. Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous banquet server experience preferred. Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified by first day.
