Part Time MISSION STATEMENT The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent. Must know about computers and all Microsoft Office Suite software applications. Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as typing letters and composing emails Ability to follow directions without supervision Excellent detail, organization, and file management skills Knowledge of the operation of standard office equipment Bilingual, English/ Korean preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to type at least 50 WPM. Must be able to lift 20 pounds. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. An understanding, respect, and acceptance of the philosophy of The Salvation Army RESPONSIBILITIES Answer all telephones courteously during business hours excluding breaks and lunch and assist those requesting information. Greet clients at the window. Determine the purpose of the visit, assist, or direct them to the proper person. Notify other staff if they have a visitor or appointment waiting. In conjunction with the previous bullet point, work with the Social Service Caseworker in regard to services, assistance, and appointments available. It is at the discretion of the Social Service Caseworker to determine the information given out and the depth of inquiry regarding circumstances made by the Receptionist. Maintain Administration files daily. Handle Memorial and donation letters for the Corps. Prepare weekly church bulletins, program schedules, and monthly calendars. Maintain office machines - FAX, copier, postage meter. Order supplies and keep machines in good working order. Prepare outbound mail for the post office. Assist other staff with preparing forms and letters for TSA business. Notify the Advisory Board of monthly meetings by mail and prepare minutes of each meeting. During the Christmas season, be available to assist with seasonal projects as determined by the Corps Officer(s). Enter program statistics on a daily and weekly basis. Prepare a monthly statistical report (NSS) for Divisional Headquarters. Responsible for maintaining Corps records and preparing reports for yearly Corps review. Other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer This position has access to confidential and private information. This position is subject to grant funding; however, if the funding ends the position may be eliminated. It is essential that confidentiality and privacy be observed. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
