Manager, Fresh Procurement
As a Manager, Fresh Procurement you will direct and coordinate all activities with members of the buying team to maintain contractual and/or company goals for all major accounts, service levels, and inventory levels. In addition, you will be responsible for developing associates via continual coaching, recognizing successes for company, teams, and individual successes, and mentoring against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), including service levels, turn weeks on hand, dead inventory, and salvage budgets. In this role, you will work with customers, vendors, Ops Planning, Customer Integrators, Account Team, and Demand Planning to solve potential issues. You are also responsible for proactive communication with executive management. Job Description Manage buyers and work with customers, vendors, Transportation, Ops Planning, Account Team, Demand Planning, and warehouse facilities to effectively manage service levels while achieving budgeted turn inventory levels. Train, coach, mentor, and provide clear expectations to Associate Buyers, Buyers, Senior Buyers, and Buyer's Assistants in the daily Procurement routine, while providing opportunities for personal and professional growth. Negotiate with vendors and customers to manage flow of inventory, while balancing customer service level requirements. Ensure current and future challenges are proactively analyzed and communicated to internal and external customers. Define and propose solutions and implement corrective actions. As recurring issues are identified, develop and implement sustainable solutions. Analyze reporting and partner with Transportation, Operations Planning, and the facilities on daily/weekly capacities and initiate change to allow other operating areas within C&S to meet their weekly P&L commitments. Participate or lead special projects as assigned. Leverage available systems to continually improve data utilization and decision-making capabilities. Manage a buying team to attained target service levels and budgeted inventory levels. Manage a salvage financial budget and lead efforts with buyers, vendors, and customers to minimize the expense to C&S. Support the inventory transfer process and budget through vendor negotiations amongst the teams. Responsible for majority of the aspects of people management: interviewing, training, recognition, counseling, and termination where applicable. Travel Required: Yes Environment Office: Office Temperature (65F to 75F) Skills Specialized Knowledge: Commodities Special Skills: Negotiation, building relationships Years Of Experience 7-10: Relevant operations or procurement leadership experience.
