This position performs manual labor in the maintenance of county roads. Maintenance duties vary by district and may include shoveling, raking, and sweeping asphalt. Perform traffic control duties such as flagging and sign placement, culvert maintenance, and snow plowing. Operate light and medium equipment. Position requires availability to respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by reporting to an assigned shop within one hour of being called. This position requires work to be completed on-site. We have openings available at Road & Bridge Golden Central Shop and Littleton South Shop. Hiring Range: $21.26

$21.50 USD Hourly. Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills. We offer an additional $2.50/hour Remote Location Differential to all employees who work at our mountain shops (Shaffers, Critchell, Evergreen, Lookout Mtn., Indian Hills, Coal Creek). Perform snow removal operations utilizing light and heavy equipment. Operate equipment and tools as necessary, such as mower, chain saw, and hand tools. Perform equipment and vehicle pre/post-trip inspections as defined by federal guidelines and inspect other items affecting safe operations. Assist with inspecting and preparing all equipment for safe use by performing routine maintenance. Prepare equipment for specific uses by making necessary modifications. Plan and request maintenance service and repair for specific equipment. Perform other general maintenance duties, routine cleaning, lubricating and minor maintenance, as necessary. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years old by hire date. Valid Driver's License for 2 consecutive years prior to hire date. If from out of state, must obtain a Colorado Driver's License within 30 days of hire. May be required to obtain a Class B or A Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement and air brake restriction removed as well as a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card within 12 months of hire. Must obtain Flagger Certification within 3 months of hire. Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and report to an assigned shop within one hour of being called. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with road construction or maintenance. Experience with asphalt operations. Experience with public works. Additional Job Information: Offer of employment is contingent on passing a criminal history, MVR check, drug screen and physical exam. To be considered, you must not have any major violations, nor DUI, DWI, DWAI in the past three years. Must provide a valid Driver's License and current copy of your full Motor Vehicle Record at the time of the interview. If you currently hold a CDL, you must provide your CDL, DOT medical card, and current copy of your full CDLIS motor record at the time of interview.
