The Studies Program's aim is to advance the discussion of American foreign policy and international affairs through its writing, publications, public outreach, and discussions. The Research Associate will work under the direction of the Senior Fellow for Climate and Energy. Major Responsibilities
Provide logistical and administrative support to the Senior Fellow, including scheduling and calendar management, handling phone calls and media requests, making travel arrangements, and drafting correspondence Conduct research and editing for articles, book chapters, and other publications Coordinate events, including preparing invitations, making travel arrangements, corresponding with speakers and presiders, helping to prepare background papers and materials for distribution, and providing other logistical support Shepherd reports and articles through the publication process, including drafting, proofreading, formatting, footnoting, and editing documents for internal use and external publication Assist with budgeting, including tracking monthly statements, monitoring grant information, writing reports and requests, creating and updating Excel spreadsheets, and preparing vouchers for reimbursement Assist the Senior Fellow with social media outreach, including publishing a blog, website, video, and/or using social media applications such as X, Facebook, etc., as needed Support other fellows and departments, upon request Qualifications
Bachelor or Master's Degree in international relations, political science, energy studies, or a related social science field; strong knowledge of global energy and CO2 emissions outlooks preferred One or more year(s) related administrative and/or internship experience preferred Excellent research, writing, and editing skills Strong organizational and planning skills and high attention to detail Exceptional written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
