As part of the RIA & Custody Services (RCS) division, the Director plays a leadership role in defining and overseeing the implementation of client product and technology solutions for RCS. This leader drives strategy and business architecture to support key growth objectives of the business. The director will be responsible for multiple in-house and vendor-based RJ applications and their respective roadmap. This individual also leads generating business process and system requirements and ensures the technology solution meets business needs. The ideal candidate will have a start-up mindset and be a hands-on leader. This role requires an understanding of the wealth management industry, client user requirements, and clearing and custody technology platforms. The individual is able to make judgements and recommendations based on the analysis and interpretation of data, and manages and monitors vendor relationships to ensure superior performance and continued strategic fit with client needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the product and technology strategy for RCS. This includes: Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement RCS's strategy and business plan across the department and broader organization Motivate others to do extraordinary things to achieve RCS business goals Perform product and market analysis by gathering and interpreting information from multiple sources (including databases, interviews, internal colleagues and clients) and makes recommendations Gauge client demand and identify potential third-party service providers for integration. May also negotiate and oversee the vendor relationship through implementation and the life of the service agreement Lead the definition of detailed business requirements for functional (e.g., business processes, rules) and non-functional (e.g. data, security) capabilities, offering hands-on support as needed in developing documentation, reports, etc. Develop estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions Partner with team members to develop project schedules and may be required to act as project lead Provides ongoing guidance and support for application development teams, i.e. draw up business processes flows Ensure test cases defined by project teams accurately validate the business requirements Responsible for handling configuration and workflow management for various financial and document management systems as needed Provide oversight and collaborate with the vendors to develop business use cases, design technical solutions and assess implementation options Stand-out as a strategy leader and key contributor to the annual strategic planning process Acts as a strategic consultant for executive leadership team on key grow and change initiatives Able to translate technical concepts to business audience and business information to a technical audience Brings an adaptive mindset while anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities and continually ensuring strategic alignment with business and client needs Understands and applies principles in risk management, issue tracking and change management Perform other duties and responsibilities as required for the role Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Fundamental practices and procedures used by custodians and clearing firms. Building platforms and technology to service independent registered investment advisors and introducing broker dealers, especially from the standpoint of a clearing and custody provider. Client-facing tools and the client experience of the technology platform used by independent registered investment advisors and introducing broker dealers. Products, process, and business structure of independent registered investment advisors and introducing broker dealers. Project planning, budgeting, and implementation. Leveraging technology to service clients and scale the platform. Skill in Analysis and forward thinking with a demonstrated track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic plans. Building products that improve client experience and drive operational efficiency. Vendor relationship management with fintech providers through all stages from negotiation, implementation, through client rollout. Strong project management skills with the ability to lead projects to completion in a complex, deadline-driven environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills

Cultivating and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels of the organization. Creative problem solving to meet client needs while managing business scale and risk. Creating and leading strong teams with a focus on talent acquisition, retention and growth. Experience in working with vendor-based application software implementation preferred. Ability to Work directly with executives and senior leaders on critical business growth projects. Engage with clients to solicit feedback and take ownership in elevating the client experience. Lead complex and time-sensitive projects by quickly understanding context and developing a prioritized approach. Partner with other functional areas to accomplish and support firm objectives and needs. Provide hands-on leadership to drive execution results. Have detailed understanding of policy, procedures and processes while maintaining a big picture orientation. Gather information, identify linkages and trends, and proactively apply findings to drive business improvements, scale, and efficiency. Listen actively and demonstrate effective communication and influence across the firm. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements College degree in computer and information science, finance, or business-related field. At least ten years of work with on a custodian and/or clearing platform with direct experience in the technology platform and products and services commonly offered to independent registered investment advisors and introducing broker dealers. More than five years of experience working in IT projects with preference for experience in financial services.
