Sr Analyst, Steam Ops Planning - New York, NY

The Sr Analyst role is responsible for conducting in-depth studies, analyses, and developing operational strategies that support Steam Operations' mission to deliver reliable, environmentally responsible service at a reasonable cost. Key areas of focus include natural gas planning, forecasting, and analysis for steam-generating stations; operational planning and dispatch coordination for steam and steam-electric units; support for rate cases and regulatory proceedings; and execution of technical projects aligned with strategic goals. The ideal candidate will contribute to optimizing performance and ensuring compliance while supporting the long-term sustainability of steam operations. Responsibilities include performing forecasts, assessments, and making recommendations pertaining to short and long term natural gas requirements; auditing the Energy Dispatchers, as well as making recommendations on the steam operating criteria; ensuring generating assets are being managed properly; initiating, preparing, and communicating technical and financial analyses to support the reliable and economic dispatch and supply of steam to customers; utilizing Stoner and Kongsberg to support Energy Dispatchers; supporting oversight of the BNY contract for steam and the Ravenswood fuel oil and steam contract; supporting Steam Operations fuel oil portfolio including negotiation of fuel oil storage contracts, inspection contracts and barging contracts along with coordinating the logistics of oil with Energy Management; supporting coordination of New Source Review (NSR) data requests from EH&S and Law; supporting Steam Operations in investigations for sources of Steam Variance; performing studies, including scope of work, data gathering/trending, computer modeling, and analyses; presenting results up to the Vice President level; assisting with preparation of reports and testimony for regulatory proceedings; interfacing with Generating Stations, the Energy Control Center, Commodity Procurement & Scheduling, Gas Control, and Steam Transmission and Distribution on a regular basis to identify their needs and to resolve issues related to improving operations and performance; conducting analyses of root cause, operational investigations, and load flow studies with regard to abnormal occurrences and contingencies of the steam system for senior management; providing emergency response duty during a steam or corporate emergency; and performing other related tasks and assignments as required. Qualifications

Required Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or other equivalent field of study and 4 years of relevant work experience, or Master's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or other equivalent field of study and 2 years of relevant work experience. Relevant Work Experience: Steam operations, planning, or engineering experience in a technical and analytic capacity - Required. Basic knowledge of power plant equipment and operation - Required. Knowledge of basic financial concepts - Required. Great communication skills and ability to work in a professional manner with various company departments and outside agencies - Required. Strong technical and analytical skills - Required. Proficient in computer applications MS Word, Excel, Power Point - Required. Basic knowledge of the PI system - Preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Driver's License Required. Physical Demands: Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday. Stand to use/operate office equipment for the duration of the workday. Ability to read small print and symbols. Additional Physical Demands: The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
