Data Squad Volunteer
Volunteer, Data Squad Part-time, unpaid 3+hour shifts. Some evening/weekend work may be required Minimum 20+ hours during the fiscal year (July 1-June 30) Ohio History Center Reports to: Manager, Audience Insights Summary: We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers that enjoy interacting with the public. Volunteers collect visitor feedback on our exhibits, programs, and experiences. Through surveying and interviewing, volunteers will have a chance to share valuable feedback to continually improve our experiences. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Approach visitors for data collection (surveying or interviews) Carry out evaluation projects accurately and according to the direction and protocols established through training. Establish rapport with a wide variety of visitors while asking questions in a consistent manner Accurately record guest feedback Education and/or Experience: Volunteers are given a full training in evaluation techniques before they start. They are also offered continuous support and additional training throughout to ensure you are confident in your role Physical Demands:
May require extensive periods of standing May involve shifts that are outside May require moving/carrying survey material Education and Experience Outcomes:
Will learn about data collection techniques Will learn to work within a team environment Will learn about aspects of visitor/hospitality services through training and on-the-job experience Will gain an understanding of the inner workings of a non-profit museum Knowledge of museum best practices and procedures.
