Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for the reconditioning of heat exchange plates, which involves removing old rubber gaskets, power washing, testing for cracks or holes, washing and drying, gluing new gaskets, transferring into an oven, and packaging for shipment. Responsibilities

Remove old rubber gaskets from heat exchange plates either by hand or using liquid nitrogen. Power wash plates to clean them thoroughly. Test plates for cracks or holes using materials that reveal defects under a black light. Wash and dry plates after testing. Glue new gaskets onto plates and transfer them into an oven for adherence. Cool plates after oven process and prepare them for shipment. Essential Skills

1 year of manufacturing or production experience. Attention to detail. Ability to work in a team. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds. Self-motivation. Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with general labor, packing, production, loading, material handling. Skills in manufacturing, hand tool usage, assembly, packaging, and forklift operation. Experience in cleaning processes. Why Work Here?

Work within a manufacturing environment in a very open warehouse that is not climate-controlled. The team consists of 12 employees who are either current or former staff members. Experience a laid-back atmosphere where meeting production output is prioritized over speed. This is a first shift opportunity, running from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work. Dress code includes steel-toed boots and jeans, with safety glasses and gloves provided. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ankeny, Iowa. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
