Lead APP - Advanced Heart Failure Piedmont Atlanta Hospital
Advanced Practice Provider Advanced Heart Failure Team Lead Piedmont Atlanta Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Team Lead to join our location at Piedmont Atlanta. This is a full-time position working variable shifts during the day. This is a great opportunity to be employed by one of the nations leading cardiology programs. You will work alongside some of the most respected and highly trained physicians. Piedmont Heart Institute provides the full line of cardiovascular services with dedicated electrophysiology, transplant, advanced heart failure, critical care, interventional, surgical and research services. Key Responsibilities:
Supervises and provides leadership to a team of APPs daily including the responsibility for all staffing decisions for APPs in the Advanced Heart Failure team, including but not limited to the following: Schedules & Recruitment Annual reviews Performance/behavior management Management of yearly budget Strategic planning for the service line including establishing goals/metrics along with performance evaluations, and interface with Physician leaders. Compliance with annual training, flu shots, etc. Supports the overall day-to-day administrative and clinical activities of the team. Provides expert medical care under the direction of the collaborating physician. Maintains an effective operating environment assuring efficient and safe operations of the team. Responds to patient, physician and staff needs. Participates in 1:4 on-call schedule. Acts as a liaison between physicians, staff, and APPs in order to promote cohesiveness. Performs assigned shifts as an APP to support the team. Manages up matters of significance to APP Director. Maintains sufficient scheduling to support volumes and to manage crises events. Assists in the evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in an inpatient setting. This position will largely function on an independent basis, and ideal candidates will have experience with limited supervision and work well independently. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Masters or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification or Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification. Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of previous supervisory or lead experience preferred. Experience: 3-5 years of acute care cardiology experience with strong Advanced Heart Failure skillsets (transplant, LVAD care experience) preferred.
